Emotional intelligence influences our behaviour, thoughts, feelings, values and interactions with others. It helps us understand how we are from emotional body perspective.

For years, the intelligence quotient (IQ) has been measured to see how smart people are. In the last twenty years, many organizations and employers have started to look at emotional intelligence as a method is assessing the suitability of candidates for positions. The sense is if an individual has a high emotional intelligence they will be able to navigate through almost any situation or find a way to navigate their way through their interactions with others.

Emotional intelligence can be measured through a variety of different tests such as Myer Briggs, Leadership 360, Strength Finders, etc. Each of the tests provides insight into the individual’s makeup so that they can better understand themselves therefore understand what their comfort zones are. In order to grow and flourish, they understand that it is important to be uncomfortable as that is when the growth happens. Through these tests, they recognize how they can be comfortably uncomfortable in order to really step into who they really are.
